This EP is fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. I hope it garners the attention it deserves. It should be played on mainstream radio, it’s got some songs very in line musically with “new” country without going into “pop” land. The lyrics song after song depict the epitome of what country music is about. Each song paints a vivid picture. Chase delivers emotion on each song and he has a voice to make a girls heart melt.
“Wayfarer Weather” – is the “country girl in a song” song on the CD. I like it, and I certainly don’t take the country girl in a song thing as bad. It’s a song where the dude is telling the girl he enjoys her and her company. “You and me together on the way to better” – nothing wrong with lyrics like this to me.
I liked the EP in its entirety but hands down I’m thinking (at least today), my favorite song on it is “Little Bit of You”. It’s strong musically and Chase kills it vocally. He captures you with his sincerity – and bam it’s over and leaves you yearning for more. But Chase why blue eyes – always should be green eyes my friend always green eyes! I will find a way to work this song into my book! #itsinmybook
“Change Your Name “ what an outstanding song, you feel the emotion behind Chase’s words. Yup it gave me goosebumps. The painted picture is awesome, I can see this song being a soundtrack for a movie, or better yet I could see him singing it on the bachelor at one of those very romantic dinner settings. Very traditional lyrics, beautifully sung to some great music. Just hip enough to be on the radio today without losing the “country feel”
“Jet Black Pontiac” - Chase rocks this tune out. It has a bit more of an edge but stays in the realm of country. It’s a great summer tune, its’ a tune that will have people singing along and filling the dance floor. The beat is outstanding and sets the tone for the song. This song will rise to the top of the charts!
He ends it with a ‘the one that got away’ song so to speak, most of you are probably familiar with “Take It on Back” is a fun song, musically catchy it draws you into the lyrics. We all have that time when we find ourselves thinking back to “when.” It’s probably the song that pushed it most musically out of the country realm. But if you know me you know I don’t hold that against songs, artists.
A few of the songs are what I call tater chip songs because just like a lays potato chips, you can’t just eat one. I could just eat ‘em up. Hearing artist release music like this bring huge smiles to my face. This is one of those EP’s that takes the genre out of music. Good music appeals to all and this is good music.
